The last few days Kai has been waking up sporadically in the early parts of the morning. I can't figure out if it's bad dreams or he is just enjoying spending the remainder of his rest snuggled under my armpit... either way I'm hoping tonight helps us get back into our normal routine.
It's been so nice outside, I've refused to be kept in the house if I can help it. So after Kai woke up from quite a short nap, we headed to a nearby park and to get some fresh air. Lately Kai has been really into his independence and as much as it can be bittersweet, I'm really proud of him. I could do without the words mine and no no stop when I try to lend a helping hand, but still none the less he really is coming into his own. Our park trip didn't disappoint as Kai insisted on climbing by himself, jumping, and only yelling for "elp" when it was a life or death type of situation. As always here are some pictures of the weekend, including one of this afternoon where we sat and colored on the sidewalk while eating Popsicles and waiting for daddy to finish his homework (finally the last year of his master's program).
I would like to note that it is so important to make sure your little ones are wearing caps and sunscreen! Regardless of skin tone or complexion everyone can have negative effects of sun damage that can easily be prevented. So be sure to pick up some sunscreen and apply before you head out to play, I promise you'll be glad and so will they!
Did I mention we are teething again? These Popsicles are a lifesaver right now...didn't we just finish with a set of teeth?
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed some awesome summer weather!!
