Woven by Grace: Handmade Feature: Roo's Essentials

I'm so excited to continue Handmade Features throughout the year, because there are so many I hope to share with you! I met this shop through Instagram via a giveaway and I really am a sucker for great little girl items...that's the truth. I love seeing how our little ones can inspire us to make tons of great items, because most things are just better handmade. I hope that you check out Roo's Essentials and enjoy reading about how this mama got started! I think it's so great to stay connected and can't wait to see what you find in her shop! I'm hoping for a little girl to dress up in some Roo's Essentials in the future (cough...cough).

My name is Nicole Brittingham I meet and married the man of my dreams in the summer of 2010. I have lived abroad in the beautiful country of New Zealand and got my associates degree in Theology and family counseling. I also am a part time Photographer . This year we welcomed out amazing and beautiful daughter Reagan Paisley into the family. Being a mom has changed my life for the better, I never knew I could love like this, and cherish all these little moments!!

I was so blessed growing up that both my grandmothers were amazing seamstresses and taught me how to sew and make things at a young age, years later I can still remember their gentle hands teaching me the ways although I do wish I would have practiced more and worked harder as a teenager, hind sight is always 20/20 .

I got this desire to make the basics for babies after I had Reagan. She is my inspiration and also the name of my store Roo’s Essentials. We are only 2 months old, we opened up October 2013 . If I had to pick my favorite item in the store at the moment it would be the Chunky Crochet infinity scarfs and the matching “Little’s Infinity Scarf” nothing is cuter then my 8 month old wearing a scarf to keep her warm! At this time we have launched our Scarfs, for Mamma and the Little’s, crochet cowls, our crochet turban headbands for babies through adults, our Shabby Chic lace headband line, and also our sparkle and chevron print headbands. In the making and coming in the new year, Bandana bibs (for both genders) , Blankets, and Swaddle blankets and sleeping swaddle pods and burp rags. (I need to get busy).
